Saving Cats in NWA

Since 3.19.19

Mew was started on a spring day March 19, 2019 when a group of volunteers in the local animal welfare community saw the need and knew they had the passion and resources to make a difference. With years of aninmal welfare experience under our belts, we knew we could launch a different and more modern kind of rescue to be successful in the ever changing landscape of animal welfare. Mew continues our work today with the help of the local community who adopts, donates and supports our mission. We focus on strays and owner surrenders in the local area especially Benton County, and on our Mew Cares assistance program. Mew Cares helps owners and their cats stay together and avoid surrenders, by helping with vet care and supplies and other basic needs. Join us today and get involved or donate to help us continue our mission.

What We Do

Intake Strays and Owner Surrenders

Mew fields calls and requests daily from the community to help stray cats and also to help owners who need to surrender.

Foster Program

All cats must have a foster home to come into Mew, and that foster helps to facilitate adoption. One cannot happen without the other! Fostering a cat is truly saving its life.

Mew Cares

Cat owners should have resources to keep their cats healthy and at home. This program provides financial assistance for rent deposits, vet care and food and litter.

Trap Neuter Return

TNR is the answer to the root cause of the cat overpopulation crisis. We help the local community trap, get those cats altered, and release them back.

Adoption

Mew fields calls and requests daily from the community to help stray cats and also to help owners who need to surrender.

Petco Program

Mew puts some of our adoptable cats into Petco in the Rogers location on Walton. You can meet and adopt a kitty the same day!

Our Mission & Approach

Compassion for all animals and the people who care for them. We strive to provide a non-judgmental environment to build bridges and relationships with our community.

Community engagement and participation in all our programs. We strive to empower our community to be the change they want to see, relying on volunteers to be a part of all of our programs.

Progress and growth every day. We strive to consistently be on the front lines of emerging research and approaches in the animal welfare community. Change is made by taking risks, challenging the standard and always thinking differently.
