About Mew
Mew Cat Rescue is a 100% volunteer run, foster based cat rescue. Over our five years of rescuing, we’ve helped over 4,000 local cats through various avenues such as Adoption, Trap, Neuter Return, and financial assistance through the Mew Cares Program. We do not receive any funding from local, county or state agencies to cover our cost. We save lives through adoption fees and donations from our generous supporters.

A Letter from the Board
Mew Cat Rescue would like to formally invite you to sponsor and attend our fourth annual Wicked Whiskers! Wicked Whiskers is our annual fundraising event where we get together for an awesome night of comedy to help support our rescue efforts.
This year, we’ll gather at Thaden School the evening of October 12th, and we’d love for you to be part of it! 2024 will be bigger than ever with a hilarious comedy show, a light meal, open bar, costume contest and our famous surprise boxes, with more events to be announced.
Since 2019, Mew has helped 4,000 cats and counting in Northwest Arkansas. The core of what we do at Mew is to rescue, foster, care for and adopt out cats and kittens. We do this to prevent them from dying on the streets or being euthanized in a shelter. All of our cats live in our volunteer foster homes where they are cared for until they get adopted.
During their stay with us, all our rescued cats’ medical needs are taken care of. This can be as basic as vaccines and spay neuter services, or more complex procedures such as removing a leg or eye due to injury.
Mew cares for moms with litters, as well as orphaned and abandoned kittens that need to be
bottle fed around the clock. Rehoming requests are rising and starting to outpace requests for strays. This is one of the reasons we started the Mew Cares program, in an effort to keep cats in their homes that might otherwise be surrendered due to not affording vet care, pet deposits or even food. Money should not be an obstacle to keeping your cat. One example is a young kitten named Milo, who ate a yarn ball. His family loved him dearly but could not afford the surgery to remove the ball. They were considering surrendering or at one point even euthanizing. A friend told them about Mew Cares, and we stepped in to pay for the surgery at our partner vet. Milo is healthy and happy now in his home!
Another life-saving program we operate is a Trap Neuter & Return (TNR) program to reduce the overpopulation crisis in NWA. The more cats that we fix, the less kittens born on the streets each year.

We are proud to be woman led and operated by volunteers who dedicate their personal time to our mission. They have families, full time jobs, young children, aging parents and a host of other things, but they still make time for helping others. Team work is how the dream works.
